Why I built TripCart
Hi, I'm Stefan. For more than 15 years I've been sailing the world's oceans — the Caribbean, Australia, the Seychelles, Thailand, Indonesia, Svalbard, plus pretty much every coast Europe has to offer, from Sweden and Scotland to Croatia and Turkey.
And on every single trip, the same drama: eight people, one galley, three diets and a group chat with 147 unread messages. One is vegan, one can't do nuts, one “eats everything except fish” — on a sailing boat.
Out at sea there's no quick run to the shop. Forget the onions and you're cooking onion-free for three days. Buy too much and the crew eats tortellini until the next harbour. And guess who was always standing in the supermarket with a soggy list and a calculator? Exactly.
So I built the app I always wished I'd had on board: TripCart plans the meals, respects every allergy, scales the quantities and turns it all into one shopping list. Less spreadsheet, more sea — for sailors, campers, ski cabins and every other crew out there.
